Why volunteer?

Dutch Kills CSA is a volunteer-run organization. Members are required to work three volunteer shifts per year. Each week’s distribution is divided into four shifts: 11:30 to 1:30; 1:30 to 3:30; 3:30 to 5:30 and 5:30 to 7:30. The early shifts help set up the distribution site, count inventory, and weigh the fruit shares. The later shifts check-in members and distribute shares. The final shift does all that plus helps clean up and break down the site. Distribution ends at 7:30 pm sharp and clean up must be finished by then. The site coordinator works the entire distribution shift and organizes the volunteers. Click the signup box below to register for your three volunteer shifts for the 2024 season.

What is a site coordinator?

A site coordinator supervises the volunteers and is at the CSA site for the whole distribution from 3:30 to 7:30 pm. The site coordinator assigns tasks to the volunteers—including set up, signing in, distributing vegetable and fruit shares—plus any extras, and clean up. If you ever have a question during our weekly distributions, please ask the site coordinator.
