equity shares
Dutch Kills CSA offers a half-price Equity Vegetable Share for $331 to members who cannot afford to pay full price. Our 2024 season runs for 24 weeks, which means the cost of an equity share is $13.70 a week. Equity members are also required to purchase an equity membership for $10.
Our CSA covers half the cost of every equity share, which is why we can afford to fund only 20 equity shares. Please apply early! There are no subsidies for Family Veggie Shares or Fruit Shares or extras such as mushrooms.
Registration opened April 1; deadline to apply is June 1.
Please read the income guidelines below to see if you qualify.
If you plan to split your equity share with a share partner, you have two options: (1) If both of you qualify for the equity price, then each of you needs to submit an application. (2) If you qualify but your share partner’s income exceeds our guidelines, then you would pay half of the equity price (i.e., $165.50) + $5 (which is half the cost of an equity membership), and your partner would pay half the cost of a full-price share (i.e., $355) + $17.50 (which is half the cost of a full-priced membership ). We will send separate bills to you and your share partner.
Equity shares must be paid for either by check or Venmo (but not with a credit card). There is an additional 2% fee on all Venmo payments because Venmo charges us a 2% fee.
Equity members have the same responsibilities as other members of Dutch Kills CSA, including paying an annual membership fee and working three volunteer shifts.
If you need help to afford a vegetable share, please complete the application below. If your income exceeds our guidelines, but you have extenuating circumstances, please write to us at info@dutchkillscsa.com. We will let you know within 10 days if your application has been approved.
PAYMENT: You can either pay in full when you register, or you can arrange a payment plan with $170.50 due when you register ($165.50 + $5 membership fee = $170.50), and $170.50 due by August 1. If you opt for the payment plan, please note it is available only for check payments: You must include both checks in the same envelope—one with the current date and one dated August 1.
